Sustainability

Historically the JISC Regional Support Centres have supported Learning Providers with their development of Information Communications Technology (ICT) and Integrated Learning Technologies (ILT).

With ever increasing pressure on being green and sustainable, the RSCs are here to support you with your green plans for the future by:

• providing advice on issues regarding sustainability;
• acting as a broker of information and expertise by running events, forums and mailing lists; and
• providing exemplars of good practice.

Some measures already being implemented in many IT environments are:

• Virtualisation
• Thin Clients
• Print Management
• Document Management Systems
• Technologies to allow working from home

  We are currently in the process of undertaking a project to inform the RSC about sustainability issues in the East Midlands learning providers and scope out the need for RSC support for sustainability in the East Midlands.
